There is a black-painted Anchor that was retrieved from the sunken SS Alberta at the maritime memorials at Point Danger - with the shaft of the Anchor pointing in the direction of the underwater shipwreck.

The Anchor memorial was conceived and erected by the members of the SE Queensland Vindicatrix & MN Mariners Association, who acknowledge the assistance and cooperation of the Gold Coast City Council's Officers and Staff. The Architect was Gary Fidler, Boyds Bay Lanscaping P/L the builder, with the Anchor being donated by The Tweed Maritime Museum. [Information from a plaque on the surround.] A plaque to the right of the Anchor, details the following information:

The anchor displayed was retrieved from the Steamer
SS ALBERTA (3398 tons) wrecked on Sutherland Reef,
East of Cook Island, Fingal Head on October 19th, 1880.
If you follow the line of the anchor shank it will
take your vision directly to where this maritime
loss occured. (no lives were lost)
