Eleanor Streber
Born July 17, 1914, in Wheeling, Streber graduated from Warwood High School and studied voice at the New England Conservatory of Music. A gifted soprano, she won a contract with the Metropolitan Opera in 1940 and performed there for over twenty years. After her retirement, she devoted her time and resources to teaching young singers. Steber died October 3, 1990, in Pennsylvania.
