This cave, just off the Leonard Springs Trail, was formed when the limestone that was once here was dissolved by water saturated with carbon dioxide, which forms a weak acid. When the water table dropped, the cave was revealed. Water that once exited this cave now forms Shirley Springs, at the base of this bluff. An information sign outside the cave entrance gives some additional information.
