Punto 1.- N 38° 50.206' W 0° 29.739'
La ruta comienza en la calle de la Virgen de los Desamparados nº46, junto al Museo de las Artesanías -espacio donde un panel de información además de un lavadero y museo que se puede visitar contactando con el Ayuntamiento-. Desde ahí nos dirigiremos a la calle de enfrente, al carrer de les Ànimes, hasta llegar al carrer Camí d´Albaida, calle que conecta con el inicio del bello paseo de la Séquia del Port, lugar donde se encuentra el principal recorrido con el rumor constante del agua.

La Ruta dels Llavadors de Atzeneta d´Albaida recorre, principalmente, el paseo de la Séquia del port (s. VIII-XIII) -una milenaria construcción- y parte del llamado poblamiento islámico de la Séquia del Port, un recorrido único lleno de pequeños huertos y con las casas pegadas, en todo momento, a la acequia, donde se puede observar la canalización del agua tan pegada a las casas. Espectacular, sin duda.

Aquí encontraremo otro lavadero público.

Se podría decir que los lavaderos eran, antiguamente, las «redes sociales» de la época, pues, al igual que las barberías para los hombres, las mujeres sabían todos los cotilleos y novedades en estos espacios de sociabilización que eran reservados tradicionalmente a ellas, además de que estaban considerados espacios de aprendizaje social y, todavía hoy, testimonio vivo del esfuerzo y trabajo de las antiguas amas de casa.

Aquí nos encontramos con otro lavadero público, no menos espectacular que los anteriores.

El final de la ruta es al terminar este paseo, junto al restaurante El Balconet y antes de la subida a El Calvario y su ermita, lugar que también podéis visitar o, como nosotros, ampliar mucho más la ruta para conocer el nacimiento de la Séquia del Port.

The end of the route is at the end of this walk, next to the El Balconet restaurant and before going up to El Calvario and its hermitage, a place that you can also visit or, as us, extend the route much more to discover the source of the Séquia del Port.
