This Apollo command module carried three astronauts to the lunar orbit in November 1969 during the Apollo 12 mission, which made the second manned landing on the moon. Astronauts Pete Conrad and Alan Bean descended to the lunar surface in the lunar module Intrepid, which Richard Gordon remained in orbit in this spacecraft, named Yankee Clipper.
The command module, built by North American Aviation, weighed about 13,500 pounds at launch. it is the only part of the Apollo-Saturn vehicle that returned to Earth at the end of the Mission.
