The restored Pere Marquette Railroad depot in Port Hope was restored and opened as a museum 10 years ago. Approximately five years ago they acquired this 1904 New York Central Standard Caboose. It was in need of much restoration as half of the caboose was missing. With original prints and photographs the work was performed to original specifications. It sits on two 39.5 foot tracks behind the museum with access from a ramp in the museum. The inside features an original stove donated by a local railroad buff. The caboose number was discovered during the restoration after scraping several layers of paint. Photos of the restoration can be seen
here.
Current Use: Port Hope Depot museum
 Type Of Caboose: Cupola, "Standard"
