Drive on US 290 until you reach the traffic light at the intersection of US 290 where turning South means you are turning onto Hays County Acres Road but turning North means you are turning onto Headwaters Blvd. Be sure to turn South onto Hays County Acres Road!
Head South on Hays County Acres Road for about 0.18 mile and at the junction of an unnamed road on your left, (East side of the road) turn onto this road at the junction. Continue up the long curve and follow the signage toward the Church's parking lot. Try to go as far East as you can before parking. Depending on where you have parked, walk to the right side of the building complex (walk South to the end corner of the last building). There is a Memorial Garden at that end.
From the South end of the building walk toward the woods. There is an opening in the trees a little to your right that will begin a path into the woods and following the path will lead you to the labyrinth. You could also just walk through the cedar tree's branches to get to the labyrinth, but it will be a difficult experience doing it that way.
The labyrinth is a large rustic classical pattern that will lead you through the four quarters of the pathway to get to the center. The path is comfortably wide and is a dirt path with grasses offering a comfortable and clean walking surface. The edges are native limestone rocks well places and fixed in their place. The center contains a small cairn made of larger native limestone rocks than those used for the edging. The cedar trees offer a visual screen from the view of the nearby church buildings and offers birdsong, butterflies and naturally peaceful sights and sounds.
The pathway to the labyrinth's center is designed to complement the concept that walking a labyrinth allows you to meditate and release your tensions and worries on the way in. At the center, you can leave those frustrations there and can return on the same path back with a more relaxed attitude of hope and contentment. Enjoy the walk.
