The effigy and tomb of Sir Walter Strickland in Kendal parish Church.

Under a raised canopy of marble, Walter Strickland (1656) (son of Sir Thomas), alabaster effigy of a boy below a gray slate slab. His initials and date of death are given on the lower stage with the initials ‘W.S.,1656’ (Walter Strickland, son of Thomas, died aged 9). At the end and around the Latin inscription is inlaid a border of white marble with the following:
