"To his Excellency the Governor and Members of the Privy Council in the State of Virginia
The Petition of Dorcas Kincheloe, formerly Dorcas Wickliff, Widow and Relict of Cornelius
Kincheloe dec’d, that she is the full sister of Arronton Wickliff, Moses Wickliff and Benjamin Wickliff,
her three Brothers, who enlisted in the Service of the United States during the Revolutionary War,
sometime in the Summer of 1776, in the County of Prince William, in a Company Company commanded
by Capt. Jesse Davis [W8652], and marching from the Town of Dumfries in said County, joined a
Regiment at Baltimore, and proceeding on to the North, were in the Battles of Brandywine [11 Sep 1777],
German Town [Germantown, 4 Oct 1777] and Monmouth [28 Jun 1778], and served the full Term of
three years, when in the Summer of 1779, they were discharged."
