This bench can be found on west side of the boating lake in the Mooragh Park between the lake and the St. Paul’s Property Services Planter.
The bench is made from steel which has been painted black and has horizontal bars for both the backrest and the seat.
The backrest has an artistic silhouette sculpture which features flowers, some of which have been painted red. The silhouette has two doves of peace in the upper left-hand corner and the words “Lest we forget” in the upper right-hand corner.
Attached at the base of the silhouette is a rectangular plaque which carries the following dedication:
‘In loving memory of my
Wonderful husband
Peter Harridge
27.7.49 – 20.7.20
He loved this Island and visited regularly
Gone but never forgotten
Death Leaves a heartache no one else can heal,
Love Leaves memories no one can steal.’
The bench is positioned on a concrete area a little off the path around the lake and offers excellent views over the lake and up to The Albert Tower.
