A history pamphlet of the town of Concrete, WA found in a hotel room indicates, "The former Peterson Texaco gas station building was a prime fueling location in the classic style of the 1950s, positioned where Main Street intersected with Dillard, to a turn to the left and crossed the Baker river."
The former gas station was directly across from our hotel. The name of the town reflects its former vocation as a center for the production of cement and many of the buildings are made of it. Concrete is in close proximity to Mount Baker and the North Cascades National Park.
