South Gate Bridge is one of the oldest bridges in Cork. It is a triple arch bridge made of limestone that was built 1713 by Chatterton and Coltsman. It carries R608 from Sullivan Quay and Barrack Street to South Main Street over the River Lee to connect the south side of Cork to the city center. The central arch is about 12 ft. above the level of the river. The flanking arches are smaller, about 10 ft. high.
