The Idyllwild Campground is located at the State Park Headquarters for the Mt. San Jacinto State Park. The GPS noted that we were at 5242 feet in elevation.
Each campsite contains a table, notice box with storage and standard ground grill. The sites were quite close together, so the noise from other sites could be an issue, but there is no way to really tell. The park limits to the number of people to only 8 per site, so that should be helpful. Overall, there was not too much noise from other sites. When we were there, the campground was not too full. Recycling is big and there are the appropriate recipticles conviently located to the campsite.
We were close to the road, and I was surprised at the amount of noise from the road. But, then again, there was alot of noise from the packs of coyotes too. That was much more enjoyable to listen to.
Would I recommed this campground? I would, but then again, I am the type that just likes to sit and relax. Enjoy the fresh air and forget about work. But, just in case, there is wireless available, but I did not check it out.
Fees are $20 per day, with an extra $5 for additional cars.
This park is open year round.
