The reference disk and post are in good condition, unlike the station disk. It is easy to see sticking up about eight inches above grade in a mown lawn.

DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1959 MA0519' AT DU BOIS. 0.35 MILE NORTH EAST ALONG STATE HY. 219 FROM THE HIGH SCHOOL IN DU BOIS THENCE ONE BLOCK SOUTH EAST ON STATE HY. 255 THENCE ONE BLOCK NORTH EAST ON STREET THENCE ONE BLOCK NORTH WEST ON STREET THENCE 1/2 BLOCK NORTH EAST TO AN ALLEY THENCE SOUTH EAST ON ALLEY AND UPHILL TO MONUMENT AND BM.
STATION RECOVERY (2007) RECOVERY NOTE BY GEOCACHING 2007 (RLM) ADD TO DESCRIPTION, THE MARK IS 50.6 FEET NORTHEAST OF THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF THE FENCE SURROUNDING THE DU BOIS MONUMENT AND 53.0 FEET NORTH OF THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF THE SAME FENCE. THE CONCRETE POST PROJECTS 0.6 FOOT AND THE MARK IS STAMPED DU BOIS RM 1 1938.
