This colorful double mural is near the Gateway Arch on Main Street. The left (east) half is "Hong Kong Phooey" by artist Jake Beeson; the right (west) half is "Abstract Passages" by Kris Kanaly. Both artists are well known (see the links for their web pages) and these murals are part of the Miami Mural Tour; see yet another link below for more details.

"Hong Kong Phooey" is a tribute to taggers everywhere. The mural depicts various anthropromorphic animals wielding cans of spray paint, over a colorful background of graffiti.

"Abstract Passages" is a surreal landscape of abstract buildings and structures, peppered with "loading" dialogs. The colors used here are desert pinks and light browns and pale greens, giving this mural something of a New Mexico feel.
