[FIN] Lappeen hautausmaan nimellä suunnitteluvaiheessa kulkenut Lepolan hautausmaa rakennettiin vuosina 1937-1938 ja vihittiin käyttöön 4.6.1939. Hautausmaan pinta-ala muurien sisäpuolella on n. 9,5 ha. Ilmari Wirkkalan suunnittelma hautausmaakokonaisuus ulottuu osin muurin ulkopuolelle. Hautausmaan kokonaispinta-ala on n. 11,5 ha. Ilmari Wirkkalan suunnittelema siunauskappeli rakennettiin vuosina 1938-39 ja vihittiin käyttöön 1939. Kappeli on peruskunnostettu Kari ja Riitta Ojalan suunnitelman mukaisesti 1980-luvulla, jolloin alttari sai nykyisen ilmeensä.
Uurnahauta-alueella on tilaa noin 5000:lle vainajalle.
Välittömästi hautausmaan pääportin tuntumassa sijaitsee talvisodan aikana, 2.3.1940 Kaukaan pommituksen uhreina menehtyneiden yhteinen hauta muistomerkkeineen.
Kappelin eteläiseen pitkään sivuun rajoittuvalla hautaosasto 9:llä on jatkosodan aikaisen, 19.6.1944 tapahtuneen Simolan aseman pommituksen uhrien yhteishauta muistopaasineen, jonka edustalla on tunnistettujen vainajien kivilaatat nimitietoineen.
[EN] The Lepola cemetery, which went by the name of Lappeen cemetery during the planning phase, was built in 1937-1938 and inaugurated on June 4, 1939. The area of ??the cemetery inside the walls is approx. 9.5 ha. The cemetery complex, designed by Ilmari Wirkkala, partly extends beyond the wall. The total area of the cemetery is approx. 11.5 ha. The blessing chapel designed by Ilmari Wirkkala was built in 1938-39 and inaugurated in 1939. The chapel was fundamentally renovated according to the plan of Kari and Riitta Ojala in the 1980s, when the altar got its current look.
The urn grave area has space for about 5,000 deceased.
Immediately next to the main gate of the cemetery, there is a common grave with memorials for those who perished as victims of the bombing of Kaukaa during the winter war on March 2, 1940.
Grave section 9, bordering the southern long side of the chapel, has a common grave for the victims of the bombing of Simola station during the Continuation War, which took place on June 19, 1944, with a memorial plaque, in front of which are the stone slabs of the identified deceased with their names.
