The chair was was built in 1981 by the Anniston Steel and Plumbing company. It was once known as the World's Largest Chair, but in 1995 that title went to a chair in Manzano, Italy. The chair in Manzano is 65 1/2 feet tall.
This chair is, however, still the World's Largest Office chair!
