Outside the Residency Museum is a collection of old agricultural equipment. One of the items is a single plough which would have been pulled behind a horse with the operator guiding the horse and plough.

It is a mould board pough suitable for cultivating the flat earth in the York area where wheat was the main crop grown.

This is a rudimentary piece of equipment with no brand name so is likely to have been constructed by a local blacksmith. The front section which would take most of the wear and tear is designed to be replaced if needed.
