The concrete surface of the half court was in good condition (though it has expansion joints constructed into it). The single 'FreeGame' backboard from KompanY is in good condition, as is the net. What is unusual is the surround for the backboard tower. Sections of blue fibreboard have been mounted between angled and curved pipes, with sundry cut-outs and etched grooves with an overall arch effect to the height of the base of the backboard. Some of the grooves in the boards may indicate a stickman with a ball at its feet, or leaping in the air for a throw. On the bay side is a grooved stick person portrayed with a 'hockey stick'. Many of the holes appear almost as if they had been there to place rock climbing holds over the surface as a secondary purpose - though only a handful are placed. While the base of the tower has a caged/grill effect with vertical galvanised pipes set back from the backline and frame.
