Una de las características de la arquitectura malagueña del siglo XVIII es la presencia de pinturas murales en las fachadas de los edificios más nobles. En los últimos años se han venido recuperando estas pinturas murales de las fachadas de iglesias y otros edificios repartidos por la ciudad, cubiertas durante siglos por capas de cal. De esta pintura mural que tenemos delante en la Iglesia de San Juan Bautista debemos destacar su decoración con forma de malla que demuestra gran maestría en la combinación de los colores. Otras muestras de pinturas murales en edificios religiosos podemos encontrarlas en las iglesias del Sagrario (calle Santa María), de los Mártires (Plaza de los Mártires), de Santiago (calle Granada), o de San Felipe Neri (calle Gaona). Así mismo, podemos encontrar pinturas murales en numerosos edificios en la ciudad: calle Carretería, 23; Museo del Vidrio, en calle Gaona; o calle Panaderos."
EN: "One of the most salient features of Málaga’s eighteenth-century architecture was the presence of mural paintings on the façades of stately homes and religious buildings. Buried underneath several layers of whitewash, they have been restored in recent years. The painted walls of the Church of San Juan Bautista boast a geometric pattern that reveals great skill, also seen in the colour scheme. Other mural paintings can be seen in the Church of El Sagrario (Santa María Street), the Parish Church of Los Santos Mártires (Plaza de los Mártires), the Church of Santiago (Granada Street), the Church of San Felipe Neri (Gaona Street), 23 Carretería Street, the Glass Museum (Gaona Street) and Panaderos Street."
