In 1958, two brothers - both Wichita State University students - established a restaurant in a building on the corner of Bluff and Kellogg. They sold pizza, a dish that was just beginning to gain popularity in America. They staffed their business with family, friends and fraternity brothers and called it Pizza Hut.
As Pizza Hut grew into a worldwide chain, this small building passed to other lessors and faded into obscurity. The property was eventually aquired by WSU as the campus expanded and the building was used for storage. Today, it is the Pizza Hut Museum, open to the public on weekdays.
