This building was constructed in 1936 to provide Mesa with a first class post office. After the post office moved to a new facility several other federal agencies occupied the building. It was donated to the City of Mesa in 2002. The city has been criticized for destroying many of its oldest buildings. to change the situation, several buildings are being rebuilt to provide additional modern space on the inside while maintaining the street scape of an earlier era. At the moment, the building is surrounded by building materials, but the name is still visible.
