MCTC Mt. Darwin was built by the Pullman Company in 1924. It entered general pool service that year, primarily in the US Midwest on the CB&Q. It remained in Pullman service until 1965, when it was sold to Bear Creek Scenic Railroad, later Railroad Town USA. After spending several years on the Oregon, Pacic & Eastern (OPE) Mt. Darwin was acquired by the museum in the late 1980's.
It arrived at the museum in Southern's "Crescent Limited" livery, but was repainted Pullman green by 2021.
