Methodists first worshiped in Pelham in 1831, at the Pelham Town Hall. In 1841 the Pelham Methodist Church was organized. Land was donated by Augustus Webster to construct a Methodist church at 142 Amherst Road and the church was subsequently constructed. In 1936 the West Pelham Methodist Church merged with the Pelham Congregational Church and became the a federated church, the United Church of Pelham, with services held in West Pelham. (visit link)

A set of six Doric piasters divide the front of the church into five sections. There are entrances on the second and fourth sections and a large rectangular window in the middle. The smaller sections on each side are blank. Above is a pediment.

Rising from the gable roof is a two stage steeple. The bottom stage is a short square tower. Above is a belfry with louvered openings flanked by pairs of rectangular columns.

The sides of the church are three bays deep. Each bay has tall rectangular windows. The east side is set into a steep slope and there is an entrance covered by a slanted roof. An addition at the back of the church is now a residence.
