[EN] The botanical garden is open all year round and both adults and children enjoy it. The collection of over 5,000 taxa (species, varieties, etc.) is a living showcase of the diversity of the world's flora. The garden's collections contain plants from different climate zones around the world, from rainforests to deserts.
The garden serves as a research site for the University of Turku and has operated in its current location since 1956. There are large greenhouses in the area with different climate types from around the world. Greenhouses include succulent greenhouse, araucaria room, winter garden, new world tropical, old world tropical and Mediterranean climate. The outdoor areas are large and have free access from 8am to 8pm every day. Greenhouses are easy to spot from satellite images.
