The Georgian style Storrs House was built in 1786 for the Reverend Richard Salter Storrs, the second pastor of the First Church of Christ in Longmeadow, MA. Subsequently three generations of Storrs made the house their home. In 1907 Sarah Williams Storrs bequeathed her house, now the Storrs House, and land to Longmeadow. She requested that a library association be formed to create a public library and that the association be named after her grandfather Pastor Richard Salter Storrs. When the present Richard Salter Storrs library was built in 1932, the Storrs House was moved to its present location and became the headquarters of the Longmeadow Historical Society which operates the house as a local history museum.

The two story high house has a gable roof and interior brick chimneys on each end. It's main entrance now faces east, away from Longmeadow Street. A walkway leads up the the green door entrance. There are two 4 by 6 pane double hung windows to the left of the door and one to the right. The upper level has three matching windows. The west side is symmetrical and has five bays. The third bay has an entrance and all other bays have 4 by 6 pane double hung windows.

The gable ends of the house have two windows at the lower level and upper levels and a single window at the attic level. All windows are 4 by 6 pane double hung windows.
