This Scouting Headquarters is the HQ for Boy Scout Troop 17. Organized on May 6, 1914, they are the oldest continually registered Troop in the State of Maryland. In 2014 they celebrated their centennial anniversary.
The current HQ was built with donations and fundraisers in 1962.
