The sculpture is of Emma wearing a puffy dress with a follower in each hand. On her head is a crown.
The plaque reads: "Queen Emma born Emma Kalanikaumanaka;amano Na'ea Rooke (1836-1885) married King Alexander Liholiho in 1856. She lived a long live dedicated to her people and was known and loved for her humanitarian efforts throughout the islands. Some of her major accomplishments were establishing Queen's Hospital, the Anglican Church in Hawaii and two schools in Honolulu. After the untimely deaths of bother her son and husband, she took the name Kaleleonalani meaning the flight of the heavenly chief. The two roses signify the loss of her loved ones."
