The flag of Oftringen goes back to the coat of arms of the South German noble family of Ofteringen, who were already associated with the village of Oftringen in 1621. As a municipal seal it appears from 1811, but then with faces and above a triple mount.
I found the flag together with those of Switzerland and the canton of Aargau next to a retirement home administered by the municipality in a residential quarter in the center of the village.

Die Flagge von Oftringen geht auf des Wappen der süddeutschen Adelsfamilie von Ofteringen zurück, die bereits 1621 mit der Ortschaft Oftringen in Verbindung gebracht wurden. Als Gemeindesiegel taucht es ab 1811 auf, allerdings noch mit Gesichtern und über einem Dreiberg.
Ich fand die Flagge zusammen mit denen der Schweiz und des Kantons Aargau neben einem von der Gemeinde verwalteten Altersheim in einem Wohnquartier im Zentrum des Ortes.
