Voetstappen van goud - Doesburg, NL - Figurative Public Sculpture on Waymarking.com

Aan de IJsselkade in Doesburg vind je het kunstwerk 'Passi d'Oro' ('Voetstappen van goud') van de Italiaanse kunstenaar Roberto Barni. Te zien zijn drie mannetjes met een gouden gezicht, zwart haar en rode jassen, met elk een andere afmeting. Ze lijken vanaf de IJssel te komen aanlopen, op weg naar de oude binnenstad van Doesburg. Op hun sokkel is de kaart van Europa afgebeeld. En zo stappen ze met zevenmijlslaarzen over de landsgrenzen heen. De landen verbindend; onderdeel van dat grote Europa. Zoals ooit Doesburg onderdeel was van dat grote internationale Europese handelsnetwerk van Hanzesteden.

"Een treurig gezicht aan de IJsselkade in Doesburg: Een van de drie rode mannen van kunstwerk Passi d’Oro is weg. Zijn voetjes staan er nog, de benen zijn afgebroken. Nota bene in het weekeinde dat Doesburg groots het Hanzefeest viert, moet het gebeurd zijn. De diefstal werd maandagochtend opgemerkt."

At the IJsselkade in Doesburg you will find the artwork 'Passi d'Oro' ('Footsteps of gold') by the Italian artist Roberto Barni. On display are three golden-faced males with black hair and red coats, each a different size. They seem to be approaching from the IJssel, on their way to the old city center of Doesburg. The map of Europe is depicted on their plinth. And so they cross national borders in seven-league boots. Connecting the countries; part of that great Europe. Just as Doesburg was once part of that large international European trade network of Hanseatic cities.

"A sad sight on the IJsselkade in Doesburg: One of the three red men of the Passi d'Oro artwork is gone. His feet are still there, the legs have been broken off. On the weekend that Doesburg celebrates the Hanseatic festival in a big way, it must happened. The theft was noticed on Monday morning."
