The pole with the twelve squares symbolizes the twelve farms that belonged to the monastery of Säckingen and from which Zeihen developed. The colors black and yellow stand for the House of Habsburg under whose suzerainty Zeihen was until 1797. The ears of corn stand for the clearing community of the village. The flag was introduced in 1955.

I found the flag on a lamp post at the junction in the village center where the roads to Herznach and Hornussen divide.

Der Pfahl mit den zwölf Quadraten symbolisiert die zwölf Höfe, die dem Kloster Säckingen gehörten und aus denen sich Zeihen entwickelte. Die Farben Schwarz und Gelb stehen für das Haus Habsburg unter deren Oberherrschaft Zeihen bis 1797 stand. Die Ähren stehen für die Rodungsgemeinschaft des Dorfes. Die Flagge wurde 1955 eingeführt.

Ich fand die Flagge an einem Laternenpfahl an der Abzweigung im Dorfzentrum, wo die Strassen nach Herznach und Hornussen sich teilen.
