Nelson is a city on the eastern shores of Tasman Bay / Te Tai-o-Aorere. It is the oldest city in the South Island and the second-oldest settled city in New Zealand.

Mountain Biking Wairoa Gorge Bike Park - "Situated deep in the Wairoa Valley, just 45 minutes drive from central Nelson, 'The Gorge' is home to well over 70km of hand-built mountain bike trails that run through a lush native and beech forest environment from a maximum elevation of 1200m. OMC, or Otara Millionaires Club, were a New Zealand music group, then duo, with vocalist Pauly Fuemana later becoming the sole member. Diagnosed with chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy, Fuemana died in 2010, a week before his 41st birthday. Posthumously, his music has found success on TikTok.
