This insect sculpture (a painted butterfly) is one of a couple dozen butterflies that were part of a fundraiser for Wings of Hope. Simmons Bank is on the west side of Main, south of W. 3rd Ave.
Numerous community organizations have their logo or name on the sculpture: Girl Scouts, The Salvation Army, Stillwater Community Health Center, Mission of Hope, Stillwater Interfaith, Stillwater Cares, Stillwater Mobile Meals, Legal Aid Services, Life Center, American Red Cross, 4 Kids and Community, Relay for Life, YMCA, Stillwater Habitat for Humanity, and others.
The butterfly is painted white, with a light thorax and light gray base that has the following text wrapped around the top face: Home Town Services/ Home Town Pride. On the side face of the base is the name Simmons Bank.
A plaque on the base has the following inscription:
