Located within the Dade Battlefield Historic State Park is an artistic bench. This bench was built in the 1920's when the state and local citizens set up the Dade Memorial Park Commission to preserve the historic site. On December 28, 1835 Major Francis L. Dade and 107 soldiers under his command were ambushed by Native American Seminoles. Only 3 survived the resulting massacre.
Local citizens built many stone structures throughout the park. This artistic bench has written on the back support 'Allapata - Yama' with an arrow pointing to the west.
