"The top of the colonnade on Broad Street is a triangular pediment, originally carved by the Piccirilli brothers with designs by John Quincy Adams Ward and Paul Wayland Bartlett. The pediment measures about 30 m above the sidewalk and approximately 33 m wide. It is composed of eleven figures representing commerce and industry, each of which ranges between 1.5 and 4.9 m in height. The central figure is a female representation of integrity, flanked on the left by figures representing agriculture and mining, and on the right by those representing science, industry and invention. Originally made of marble, the figures were replaced in 1936 by lead-coated sheet metal carvings. A cornice with ova and dart moldings and lion heads carvings runs over the facade of Broad Street; it is topped by a parapet with a balustrade. The facade of New Street has a simple cornice."

There it is, this frieze facing the square, reminding us of a Greek inspiration typical of the neoclassical in which the building is built. Right now the feirless girl sculpture is watching him.
