"Morgan Chapel United Methodist Church provides a compassionate Christian presence, with programs for persons of all ages in Woodbine, Mt. Airy, Winfield, Eldersburg and surrounding neighborhoods in Carroll and Howard Counties.
We are a community church that is one of the oldest institutions in Carroll County, dating back to when the county was sparsely settled farmland. Morgan Chapel's community spirit and focus has remained strong as the area has grown; bringing electricity, paved roads, and many more people."

"From the website below:
Morgan Chapel was established as a community church in 1871 by a group of laymen under the leadership of Captain James Morgan. Morgan Chapel and the cemetery were founded at the same time. The land on the west side of Woodbine Road and Hoods Mill Road was transferred to trustees of the Congregation at Morgan Chapel in 1873 and a church was completed in 1875. Soon after its founding, Morgan Chapel became one of many stops for the Circuit Riders of the Methodist Episcopal Church. The present sanctuary was constructed in 1906. The vestibule entrance on the front of the church was added in the early 1960's after the sanctuary was hit by a car which did significant damage to the church. Inside the vestibule, the two original doors, one for men, one for women, still exist and the 1906 sanctuary is largely intact."
