This barn quilt square on the side of Trinity Lutheran Church on the 4th Street/US81 at Broadway Ave. is one of 160 barn quilt squares installed around town in 2019 as part of a 160-piece Barn Quilt Trail.
Blasterz do not claim to be very knowledgeable about the different barn quilt patterns. However, we believe this pattern is a variation on the premium star pattern.
We love the bright green and yellow center cross with triangles forming diamonds and a star, coupled with the four stars in the corner made of pink squares with blue diamonds inside. These beautiful Easter colors work so well together and the artfully arranged white space means that this quilt block (in our opinion) is not too busy.

"Self-Guided Barn Quilt Tour Begins

The Dakota Prairie Quilt Guild of Yankton invites the public to enjoy a self-guided tour of more than 160 barn quilts displayed on area homes, businesses and churches. Barn quilts will be on display Aug. 11-Sept. 16, 2019.
Brochures listing the addresses of the barn quilts may be obtained at the Hy-Vee service counter, Yankton Chamber of Commerce, Four Seasons Fabric, and SassyCat Quilts. In addition, the addresses can be obtained through links on the Yankton Riverboat Days and Yankton Area Arts web pages.
The Dakota Prairie Quilt Guild is a 501(3)(c) dedicated to promoting and educating people about the art of quilting and encouraging camaraderie among new and experienced quilters. They meet the fourth Monday of the month at Christ the King Church in Yankton. Anyone interested in learning more about the guild, barn quilts or quilting may contact Sharon Heisinger at 605-661-7472."
Apparently, the Yankton barn quilt tour was an annual event for several years. Blasterz hope it enriched and entertained the community.
