Shortly before her death in 2022, the Queen wrote a letter to the people of Sydney to be opened in 2085. This will be the one hundredth anniversary of the reopening of the Queen Victoria Building which is now on of the most elegant buildings in Sydney.
It is located in the upper level under the central dome.
The cover of the letter reads:
THE RIGHT HON LORD MAYOR OF SYDNEY AUSTRALIA
GREETINGS:
ON A SUITABLE DAY TO BE SELECTED BY YOU IN THE YEAR 2085 AD WOULD YOU PLEASE OPEN THE ENVELOPE AND CONVEY IT TO THE CITIZENS OF SYDNEY MY MESSAGE TO THEM.
