Former Chicago Milwaukee and St. Paul Railroad, an important stop on what was more commonly known as "The Milwaukee Road," is now and for several decades has been a busy restaurant trackside in Mitchell South Dakota.
Built in 1908 and closed for passenger traffic in the 1950s, this passenger depot sat vacant for 50 years before being revitalized, today it's on the US National Register of Historic Places, and is a busy place for tourists and locals alike to enjoy a nice dinner.
IN 2018 John Vodochovsky, who WRITES the blog "History and Culture by Bicycle" wrote a nice entry about the Old Depot Restaurant in Mitchell SD USA, including lots of excellent photos and some interesting history.
