The Magasin Du Nord is a large department store built in 1894 in the Renaissance Revival style designed by architects Henri Glæsel, Albert Jensen and executive architect Olaus Mynster.

The ornate building is 320' long along Kongens Nytorv with an L shaped wing on the south side and abutting a a commercial building on the north side. The four story high building has a dome in the center and a pair of trapezoidal tower on each end. The central dome is topped with a square tower with rounded openings and a spire. Two female figures are seated on top of a pediment which has a clock in the center.

The building along the ground floor are 19 bays with an entrance at the center and large windows displaying merchandise. The second level has a 19 arched windows with a a bacony the length of the building. The third level arched windows and a balcony in the center bay. The fourth level has a fan window in the center and arched windows at the 2nd, 9th, 11th, and 18th bay. All other bays havea pair of arched windows.
