Although the town of Schwollen is known for its spring water, the water from this large natural stone fountain is not for drinking.
The water flows into the two large basins attached to metal pipes on either side.
A carved head is visible on either side. Each figure holds a drinking cup.
Again warning: this is not drinking water. See plaque.
Unfortunately, no information about the fountain can be found on the Internet at this time. So the creator remains unknown for now.

"Schwollen today almost a purely residential community, lies on the edge of the Black Forest high forest surrounded by forests and meadows at an altitude of 414 m above sea level. In the immediate vicinity are the two cities of Birkenfeld in the south and Idar-Oberstein in the east.
The village is famous for its mineral springs. The mineral springs have not only made Schwollen famous, they also guarantee several hundred jobs.
Many old houses, which have been lovingly renovated, invite you to stay.
Since 1937 there has been an open-air swimming pool in Schwollen, which is actively used in summer by children and adults from Schwollen and the surrounding villages."
