Mill Pond Falls was important to the history of the Town of Newington. It is the site of the first permanent settlement in Newington with the establishment of a sawmill at Mill Pond Falls in 1677.

The fan type waterfall begins as a cascade over a rock outcrop and then fans out into two streams which fall 12' into a basin below. You can view the falls from below on pathway with a guard railing or from above from a bridge that spans Mill Pond. (visit link)
