A life-sized ANZAC soldier surmounts the war memorial that was built in 1921 to commemorate the sacrifice of the lives given by locals who went to 'The
Great War'. Almost £250 was raised by the community, with the monument then designed and erected by AL Petrie of Toowong in Brisbane. It is between the main street of Miriam Vale and the railway line. World War Two Honour Rolls were obviously added later, with three marble tablets added.
