San Xián de Brantuas fue parroquia de presentación de la Corona, fundada por el Conde de Altamira, y en la actualidad está formada por tres lugares.

La iglesia de San Xián de Brantuas responde al esquema planimétrico de una sola nave, con dos pequeñas capillas en sus laterales y presbiterio. A la altura de este y en el muro septentrional, se añadió un pequeño cuerpo que funciona como sancristía, y al que también se puede acceder desde el exterior. Los muros son de carga y la cubierta enseña dos aguas en el cuerpo principal y cuatro en el correspondiente al presbiterio, todas ellas con cubrición de teja curva.

Interiormente, el presbiterio se cubre con una bóveda de crucería. De su ornamentación cabe destacar una imagen que enseña un ropaje perteneciente al siglo XVIII. El exterior de la fachada de esta iglesia se parece enormemente a la de San Martiño de Cospindo, lo que nos induce a pensar que fue construída por los mismos canteros. También hay que destacar la torre campanario, con planta pentagonal.

San Xián de Brantuas was the parish of presentation of the Crown, founded by the Count of Altamira, and currently consists of three places.

The church of San Xián de Brantuas responds to the planimetric scheme of a single nave, with two small chapels on its sides and a presbytery. At the height of this and on the northern wall, a small body was added that functions as a sancristy, and which can also be accessed from the outside. The walls are load-bearing and the roof shows two waters in the main body and four in the one corresponding to the presbytery, all of them covered with curved tiles.

Inside, the presbytery is covered with a ribbed vault. Of its ornamentation, it is worth highlighting an image that shows clothing belonging to the 18th century. The exterior of the façade of this church greatly resembles that of San Martiño de Cospindo, which leads us to believe that it was built by the same stonemasons. We must also highlight the bell tower, with a pentagonal plan.
