In the year 1968 the people of a small village between Vejers Strand and Oksbøl in the area of Kallesmærsk Hede were forced to leave their homes, because the area around the village was converted to a training facility of the Danish military. The houses were left intact with some modifications (like bricking up the windows and cutting the supply lines). The transformator building at the Urkokvej with the number 453-352, that was probably installed in the 1920s when Denmark was fully electrified, was no longer necessary and so the lines were removed and the door bricked up.
The place can be visited when there are no military exercises in the area. However, these are usually indicated by large red balls and barriers on the access roads.
Status: Abandoned/Decommissioned
