These artillery canon are French ones and were used during the Diên Biên Phu battle in 1954.

During the Diên Biên Phu battle between French troops and Vietminh ouest, these guns were used to protect the French base.
However, they were useless in front of the Vietminh artillery brought in the mountains surroundig the camp.
The 3 105mm field artillery guns are exposed for visitors, alongside à 155mm one.
They are close to the French HQ (called PC de Castries).
