A large, polished granite monument is the centerpiece of the small Armenian Heritage Park at the corner of Douglas and Chalkstone Avenues in Providence, Rhode Island. The memorial honors victims of the 1915 Armenian Genocide and Armenian immigrants.

A large, polished granite monument is the centerpiece of the small Armenian Heritage Park at the corner of Douglas and Chalkstone Avenues in Providence, Rhode Island. The memorial honors victims of the 1915 Armenian Genocide and Armenian immigrants.
A pair of poles fly the Armenian and United States flags to the north and south respectively. The massive stone - about seven feet long, four-and-a-half feet tall, and a foot thick with a flat top and semicircular ends - is set atop a low, black base on polished granite tiles. It is set upright at the center of a cobblestone block and brick circle with a slight rise towards the middle. The front side of the marker faces east and is engraved:

The back side is engraved with the 38 characters of the Armenian alphabet from 404-406 A.D. Each letter is about 10 inches tall, deeply carved and filled with a black paint. A ground level tile at the left end of the tablet reads: "DONATED TO THE CITY OF PROVIDENCE / BY MARTHA ARAMIAN - 1996".
Other elements of the memorial include donated engraved bricks encircling the marker as well as three unique granite paver blocks engraved with Mt. Ararat, a dove of peace, and a rose.
The memorial was dedicated November 5, 1995.
