Przy wiejskiej drodze niedaleko Wschowy znajduje się duży pomnik byka o imieniu Ilon. Figura ustawiona jest na wysokim cokole, na którym również umieszczono tablice pamiątkowe. Przykuwa on uwagę nie tylko ze względu na swój rozmiar, ale również przez "podkreśloną" płeć zwierzęcia. Więcej o Ilonie i ciekawej historii naniesienia pomnika poniżej.
"Buhaj Ilon był w Polsce prototypem rozpłodowym rasy holsztyno-fryzyjskiej, stanowiąc z uwagi na swoją nieprzeciętną wydajność dumę Państwowego Ośrodka Hodowli Zarodowej Osowa Sień (placówka została odznaczona Orderem Sztandaru Pracy I klasy). Zwierzę urodziło się w miejscowym ośrodku hodowlanym, a jego matką była krowa sprowadzona w 1974 ze Stanów Zjednoczonych
Pomnik upamiętniający byka wybudowano w 1982 staraniem Edmunda Apolinarskiego, ówczesnego dyrektora ośrodka hodowlanego. Został wzniesiony w miejscu stojącej wcześniej kolumny upamiętniającej pruskiego kanclerza Ottona von Bismarcka, rozebranej w latach 60. XX wieku. Buhaja na wysokim cokole ustawiono zadem w kierunku Niemiec, co było zgodne z wolą pomysłodawcy."

On a country road near Wschowa there is a large monument to a bull named Ilon. The statue is set on a high pedestal, which also bears commemorative plaques. It attracts attention not only because of its size, but also by the "emphasized" gender of the animal. More about Ilon and the interesting story of the monument's bearing below.
"Ilon bull was the breeding prototype of the Holstein-Friesian breed in Poland, being the pride of the Osowa Sien State Breeding Center (the facility was awarded the Order of the Banner of Labor of the First Class) due to its outstanding performance. The animal was born at the local breeding center, and its mother was a cow imported in 1974 from the United States
A monument commemorating the bull was built in 1982 through the efforts of Edmund Apolinarski, then director of the breeding center. It was erected on the site of a previously standing column commemorating Prussian Chancellor Otto von Bismarck, dismantled in the 1960s. The bull on a high pedestal was placed with its rump toward Germany, which was in accordance with the will of the originator."
