[EN] “He entered the Army on January 24, 1899 as a 1st lieutenant in the 13th Mounted Regiment. In 1909, he is assigned to the Liquidation Commission of the dissolved Corps of Cuba and Puerto Rico.

In 1933 he reached the rank of Colonel. In 1934 he receives the Medal of Duty. And that same year he was assigned to the Artillery Regiment number 6.

We have no data on his passage through the war and exile until December 8, 1943, when he was arrested by the Gestapo at the Hotel Alexandra, in the town of Viernes les Bains along with seven other Spanish Republican soldiers.

The eight prisoners were transferred to the Citadel of Perpignan accused of different charges. From there they went to the French concentration camp of Vernet d'Ariege, 20 km away. from Toulouse.

Here only seven of the eight soldiers arrived, since General Mariano Gamir Ulibarri was taken to the hospital.

On June 30, 1944, they were transferred to the Toulouse prison and on July 2 they would begin a long journey, known as the "Ghost Train", arriving at Dachau on August 28. César died on December 21 of that same year.

His stolperstein was placed on October 14, 2022 at 3 Santa Clara Street.”
