[EN] “He was born in Madrid into a working-class family, there were eight brothers. His father, his uncles, his grandfather, they were all tilers.

At the age of 12, he dropped out of school and lied about his age in order to enter a company as a cabinetmaker's apprentice. At the age of 15 he was already a member of the Socialist Youth. During the War he received training as a tanker. At 20 he was already a captain and was in the great battles, Teruel, Ebro...

When going to France he was interned in Septfonds.

In December 1940 he was deported to the Mauthausen concentration camp.

There, his trade as a cabinetmaker saves him from going to the quarry. From the beginning he was part of the resistance group inside the camp and was also part of the group of deportees who helped save and take the photos outside the camp. Photos that were used at the Nuremberg trials.

After the liberation he settled in Paris. And as his daughter said, he began another exile and his clandestine militancy within the communist party.

His stolperstein was placed on May 28, 2021 at number 7 José Calvo street.”
